Sewer Mains Smoke Testing Postponed

Oberon Council recently engaged contractor Interflow to conduct Smoke Testing in various areas of the Oberon township. The purpose of the testing is to identify any illegal connections that may have been made over an extended period.

This morning, concerns were raised by Fire and Rescue NSW regarding an unusual number of call-outs linked to the ongoing Smoke Testing. As a result, Oberon Council has decided to postpone the project while working closely with Interflow to investigate and resolve any issues encountered during the testing process.

Residents who may have experienced smoke inside their premises are advised to open doors and windows to ventilate the area. If the smoke persists, please contact emergency services by calling 000 immediately.

Oberon Council remains committed to ensuring the safety of the community and will provide further updates as they become available.

For accurate and official information, please refer to the Oberon Council Facebook page and website, which serves as the single source of truth for all Council communications.

If you have any questions in relation to this matter, please do not hesitate to contact Council on (02) 6329 8100 or council@oberon.nsw.gov.au
