Mayor meets NSW Ministers - 14 November 2024

Today, Mayor Andrew McKibbin in his role with the Central NSW Joint Organisation, met with NSW Premier the Hon. Chris Minns to outline concerns in regional NSW and the links to Oberon. Mayor McKibbin highlighted to the Premier the need for enhanced connectivity across the Blue Mountains to support safe, efficient and effective freight and transport. The Premier acknowledged these concerns and the need for long-term commitments, and he provided insight into the work that the State Government is doing to address regional infrastructure.

Throughout the day, the Mayor had the opportunity to meet with several senior Ministers, including:

- The Hon. Jenny Aitchison, Minister for Regional Transport & Roads.

- The Hon, Daniel Mookhey, Treasurer.

- The Hon. Tara Moriarty MLC, Minister for Agriculture, Regional NSW and Western NSW.

- The Hon. Penny Sharpe, Minister for Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Heritage.

- The Hon. Rose Jackson, Minister for Water.

Mayor McKibbin expressed thanks to Mr Phil Donato, Member for Orange, for arranging this productive series of discussions with senior government leaders.
