Notification of aerial pest animal control program

From 16th October – 20th October 2023 and 30th October – 3rd November 2023 the National Parks and Wildlife Service will be conducting aerial pest animal control programs primarily targeting, but not limited to, feral goats, deer and pigs. The following reserves will be closed or partly closed to park visitors during the aerial operations:
- Yerranderie State Conservation Area (Oberon-Colong Stock Route and Yerranderie Regional Park remain open).
- Mares Forest National Park.
- Abercrombie River National Park and State Conservation Area.
- Abercrombie Karst Conservation Reserve.
- Wombeyan Karst Conservation Reserve.
- Jenolan Karst Conservation Reserve (Jenolan Caves visitor precinct will remain open).
- Southern Blue Mountains National Park.
- Kanangra Boyd National Park.
- Turon National Park

The operations will involve aerial shooting from a helicopter and is scheduled from Monday to Friday to commence at 07:30am and conclude no later than 17:30pm (weather permitting). Operations may not occur due to poor weather for safety reasons.
