Help Shape Oberon’s Future – Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) Engagement Begins

Oberon Council has engaged Currajong Planning to assist in developing a Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) to guide land use within the Oberon Local Government Area (LGA) for the next 20 years. The LSPS will set out a long-term vision for land use, ensuring the local area evolves in a way that meets the economic, social, and environmental needs of the community.

As part of this process, Oberon Council is inviting residents to have their say through a series of pop-in information and feedback sessions, as well as online surveys.

Pop-in Information & Feedback Sessions

Community members are encouraged to attend a session to gain information, ask questions and provide feedback. These sessions will be held from April 1–3, 2025, across five locations:

O’Connell – Tuesday, April 1 | 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM | O’Connell RFS Shed
Oberon – Wednesday, April 2 | 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM & 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Oberon Community Centre
Edith – Thursday, April 3 | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Edith Hall
Black Springs – Thursday, April 3 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Black Springs Community Hall
Burraga – Thursday, April 3 | 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM | Burraga Sports & Recreation Club

Online Surveys

For those unable to attend a session in person, a series of online surveys will be available. These surveys provide an opportunity for community members to share their views on key planning issues. Links to the surveys will be available from March 26, 2025, via the Oberon Council website.

Community feedback is essential in shaping a strategic vision that reflects local priorities and aspirations. We encourage all residents to get involved and share their thoughts on the future of land use in Oberon.
